Today, let’s consider Philippians 1:18 (NASB95), which reads:
18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice,
This verse says that even though some may preach the gospel for personal gain, the important thing is that the gospel is preached. Let me restate that: the important thing is that the gospel is preached!
The big takeaway for me is what Paul wrote should be a lens through which I view other churches. Looking through this lens does not mean I ignore wrong teaching, but the primary focus should be on do they facilitate the expansion of the kingdom of God?
Is a church preaching the saving gospel of Jesus Christ?
