If you have read my blog, you realize that I believe evangelical Christians are entering into very turbulent seas.  During the first couple of weeks in office, the Biden-Harris administration has taken basic biblical morality and dragged it through the streets to the applause of the liberal left and mainstream media.  Early examples are Joe Biden’s executive orders that allow males to use female locker rooms and to allow taxpayer dollars to fund abortions out of the country.   No doubt the worst is yet to come.

In these unholy times when good is called evil and evil good, it is important to ground yourself in God’s Word.   In this regard, an article at The Apollos Project blog makes some interesting observations about Bible engagement.  The link to this article is Proactive and Reactive Bible Intake – The Apollos Project.

This article identifies two kinds of Bible intake or engagement; namely, proactive and reactive.   Proactive Bible engagement is defined as follows:

By proactive Bible intake, I mean regular systematic Bible reading, sermon hearing, and book consumption to give a general knowledge base

Reactive Bible engagement is described below:

By reactive Bible intake, I mean letting the circumstances of life drive us back to the Scriptures. It means opening up our Bible reactively when we are in pain or in doubt or have confusion about life.

In these times, I strongly suggest that you practice proactive Bible engagement.

An evangelical Christian needs to know how to live in the midst of the moral cesspool of the American society and under the probably persecution of the United States government.  You will better persevere if you plan ahead through proactive Bible engagement.

Take the time now and learn what God’s Word says about the relationship between God and government and a believer.  Learn how the Bible treats those issues that society worships, and yet, are completely condemned by God through His Word.

Now is the time!  Practice proactive Bible engagement.  The above-cited article is a great read.

If you are looking for places to begin, my blog contains a series of articles that address the LGBTQ issues and a series that looks at a biblical relationship between God and the government and a believer according to Romans 13:1-7.  Just search through the archives.

If you are reading this post and are not a Christian, unless God intervenes, your eternal destination is hell.  But, your destiny can change.
