Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has generated a lot of attention and controversy over the past week or so.  Let me present a couple of my thoughts about her.

During her speech of February 4, 2021 on the House floor prior to the vote to remove her from her committee assignments, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene gave her testimony:

Here’s what I can tell you. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and I’ll tell you why. I believe in God with all my heart and I’m so grateful to be humbled, to be reminded that I’m a sinner and that Jesus died on the cross to forgive me for my sins. And this is something that I absolutely rejoice in today to tell you all and I think it’s important for all of us to remember none of us are perfect, none of us are. And none of us can even come close to earning our way into heaven just by our acts and our works but it’s only through the grace of God. And this is why I will tell you as a member of this Congress, the 117th Congress, I am a passionate, I’m a competitor, I’m a fighter. I will work with you for good things for the people of this country but the things I will not stand for is abortion. I think it’s the worst thing this country has ever committed.

In my opinion, she was very unfairly removed from her committee assignments by House Democrats who displayed the height of hypocrisy in voting for her removal.  While Democrats may gleefully rejoice in their federal power, that will change.  The precedents they set today have future repercussions one way or the other.  They need to deeply ponder what they are doing to the country.  Enough said!

During her press conference of February 5, 2021 after being removed from her committee assignments, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene had some words for Christians:

I have a message to other Christians in this country. Don’t be lukewarm. That’s not what your faith is for. Our savior died on a cross so your sins can be forgiven and he doesn’t want you to be quiet about it. He wants you to share the gospel and share it with everyone.

While I may not agree with Rep. Greene on every single issue that faces our country, I strongly agree with her statement that she will not stand for abortion.

Let’s be real, abortion is the deliberate choice to murder the most innocent people in the whole wide world.  The Biden-Harris administration is the overseer of massive genocide.  The blood of millions will be on their hands.   While I am not saying they are lost, anyone who calls themselves a Christian and voted for Biden-Harris knowing that Biden-Harris support murder through readily available abortion ought to seriously follow Paul’s advice in 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NASB95):

5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?

Where such a person spends eternity far outweighs temporal politics.  Just like the murder of millions in the womb far outweighs Donald Trump’s personality and his less than biblical behavior when taken in light of his strong pro-life stance.

But, the good news for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and their supporters is that forgiveness is available through repentance and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.  As quoted above, in her February 5, 2021 press conference Rep. Greene called for genuine believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to carry out Matthew 28:18-20 (NASB95), which reads:

18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

What she said is consistent with what I recently wrote in my article “Should Christians Try to Influence the Government? – Acts 24:24-25” (link is at https://stevebelsheim.com/2021/02/06/should-christians-try-to-influence-the-government-acts-2424-25/ ):

The practical takeaway is that Acts 24:24-25 gives a biblical warrant to a 21st Century believer to boldly present the saving gospel of Jesus Christ to unbelieving governmental officials.

If you are a genuine believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, I urge you to recommit to spreading the saving gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost, and especially to the lost of those who support the Biden-Harris administration.   That’s what I am going to do!

If you are reading this post and are not a Christian, unless God intervenes, your eternal destination is hell.  But, your destiny can change.

Today can be the day of your salvation.  Please see my blog (https://stevebelsheim.com/2020/04/20/for-god-so-loves-you-2/) for a description of how you can be saved and a more concise description at my (https://stevebelsheim.com/2020/10/20/there-is-hope-even-when-there-seems-to-be-no-hope-2/ ).
